Where It All Began

My Little Paradise in the Geneva Countryside
Not far from the city of Geneva, tucked away in the quiet, rolling countryside of Switzerland, there’s a place I’m lucky enough to call home. It’s a peaceful, beautiful corner of the world—full of light, color, and life—and it’s where my passion for photography was born. This little paradise isn't just where I live… it’s where everything started.
When we chose this place, it wasn’t just my decision—it was a family one. My kids and I explored the area together, walking the paths, feeling the air, soaking in the views. It felt right for all of us. We didn’t just choose a house; we chose a way of life, surrounded by nature and calm, where every season brings new stories to discover.
One of those stories began with a rock. It was early morning, the light soft and golden. The sun had just started rising—those first, warm sunshines that gently wake the day. As I walked outside, I noticed a beautiful water drop resting on the surface of a large stone near our home. Something about the way it caught the light, the way it reflected the world in miniature, made me pause. I grabbed my camera and took the shot. That was it—the first photo that truly felt like me.
"The following picture is the very first drop that made me want to dive into water drop photography. It was this single moment that sparked my fascination with capturing the elegance and motion of water in its purest form."
From that moment on, I was hooked. I started exploring this beautiful landscape through my lens, and I quickly realized something: this paradise allows me to take so many different kinds of pictures. From sweeping sunrise skies and glowing sunsets to buzzing bugs perched on flowers and dramatic clouds rolling over the hills, every direction holds something new. It’s a place that constantly changes, constantly offers something fresh to capture.
"The following picture is from that rosier, and it is incredibly inspiring to me. It was this image that truly captured my attention and sparked a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature."
But if there’s one type of image that’s become my signature—my specialty—it’s water drops. There’s something magical about them. Maybe it’s the way they reflect the world around them, or how they catch light in ways that feel almost unreal. What makes this place so perfect for water drop photography is the rich palette of color and contrast that surrounds me. Whether it’s a drop balancing delicately on a flower petal, resting in a blade of grass, or hanging from a branch after the rain, the background is never the same. The natural colors—deep greens, soft purples, fiery reds, or golden hues—create a dynamic canvas every single time.
"This is the spot where I captured this mesmerizing image of a water drop, perfectly reflecting the pine tree in its delicate surface. The clarity of the reflection adds a magical touch to the natural beauty around me."
In the same spirit, most of my insect photos are taken on flowers too—where the color contrast is sharpest and most intriguing. It’s those contrasts that bring the subjects to life and give the photos their emotional depth.
"It is here where I took this picture of an insect stuck on the sap. The colors are absolutely breathtaking. After capturing the shot, I carefully helped it to be free, allowing it to continue its journey."
I’ve made a habit of waking up with the sun, heading out into the fields while everything is still wrapped in that early morning stillness. There’s no better time to catch nature at its most honest. The air is fresh, the light is soft, and the world is calm. It’s in those early hours that I find the most unexpected beauty—moments that vanish within minutes but live on through the lens.
To take it a step further, I’ve started transforming some of these digital photographs into digital oil paintings. This isn’t just a stylistic choice—it’s a tribute. A clin d’œil to my grandmother, who was a painter at the end of the first quarter of the last century. Though her world and tools were different, our passion is the same: to reflect beauty through art, and to offer others a new way of seeing.
And as much as I cherish the serenity and inspiration this place offers, I also know how important it is to create something that stands out. In a world overflowing with images, I’ve always felt the need to offer something a little different—to find my own voice, my own signature. That’s why I chose to specialize in water drops—not in a lab, not in a studio, but out in the open. Capturing them right here, in the raw beauty of nature, makes each image one-of-a-kind. The unpredictability of the light, the wind, the reflections—none of it can be planned, and that’s the magic.
But above all, my art is meant for the many. My primary goal has always been to share my vision of the world—of Mother Nature—with as many people as possible. Before anything else, I want to give something through my work: a pause, a feeling, a perspective, a little moment of wonder.
And yes, if someone—whether modest or wealthy—wants to bring my art into their space, I welcome that with open arms. My service, my respect, and my attention will always remain the same for everyone. No exceptions.
What I take the most pride in is when someone comes to me with a special request to enhance a space. To transform a room, a corner, a wall into something meaningful, peaceful, inspiring. That, to me, is the highest compliment. Because a single, beautiful drop of water—captured at just the right moment—can completely change the atmosphere of a space. You might not imagine it… until you see it. Just take a look at some of the mockups I’ve made over time. You’ll understand what I mean.
Pause, look closely, and the beauty will appear.
